Our cruise is getting closer.
Remember how I said I was not going to get all wigged out about it? Okay, I lied. But in my defense when I said it or typed it or even thought it I was sure I could keep myself on the straight and narrow.
Yesterday I drove the Captain crazy with all of my lists. I am a list maker. For our trip I currently have three.
The packing list which is pretty much self explanatory. Do you think three bathing suits is too much? Not enough? The Captain is taking six, but in his defense he is planning on wearing them as shorts too. But then I guess that doesn't really explain why he thinks he needs six pairs of shorts too. Now I a have a quandry.
Then I have my list for the sitter. We have someone coming in to take care of the babies while we are gone. It's not like she hasn't done this before. In fact, she has been our official cat sitter for about four years now. Doesn't matter. I still have a list. How much food, when they eat, the names and numbers of the vet, the police and our next of kin.
And lets not forget the final list. The check-off list. This is all of the things that still have to be done before we go and yes packing and going over everything with the sitter are on that list as well.
Plus there are a few things I realized I still need to purchase. Sunscreen. Straps for our sunglasses, travel size shampoo, conditioner and mouthwash. Oh, crap...now I have to make another list.
I can't be the only one of my kind. Come on, there have to be other fanatical list makers out there. I
would just like to know where to find you. Or am I the only one who is crazy like this?

You are not the only one. I have lists for everyday stuff not just for vacation. Don't forget to put out the garbage is usally number one on my list when I make them every Sunday night.
oh, I'm a list maker too. I'm pretty sure you're not technically considered a real woman unless you have like a bazillion lists going at any particular time. In fact, I think South Park said it best when in one episode, Kyle sagely said, "Girls will die if they don't have lists to make" *nods in agreement*
I'm compulsive about lists, too. When my oldest son graduated high school, he requested a party as his gift. I had all kinds of lists. What food to serve, where I was buying it, and where it would be set up in case of rain.
My uncle is confined to a wheelchair, so I had lists for making him comfortable, like vendors who sold portable ramps.
There was the list of gear to be rented like chairs, tables, umbrellas.
The guest list, who RSVP'd, who hadn't.
I have lists for all my books, too. Character lists, plot twist lists, revision lists.
The worst list is the To Do list. I keep writing one and then never get to tackle it.
i'm definitely a list gal. there are so many details to remember at work and at home and hey, it feels good to check off those items one by one.
list on, my friend.
